Purpose / Mission statement

“Behind the Platen 2” is a traveling exhibition featuring work from artists and printmakers who continue to evolve the legacy of letterpress printing. The exhibit demonstrates how the medium is being explored and utilized in our contemporary design culture, from hobbyist to commercial shops and experimentation to client work.  

Behind the Platen 2 will stop at educational institutions throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. Each location will host the curated gallery show along with a coinciding lecture from one of our featured Printmakers. Stay tuned for more information on participating artists and show locations.
